Empera had transitioned to a strategy targeting modern, urban, and fast fashion-adapted customers with its new brand positioning launched in recent years. However, both its existing website and retail activities through dealerships did not showcase the brand as it should be. Therefore, there was a need for a new retail approach, including an e-commerce website and physical store operations, to cater to the brand’s desired image. Crafting a new generation carpet retail experience was necessary.

Solutions

After conducting 1-1 consumer interviews, the criteria that consumers pay attention to when purchasing a carpet were carefully listed. It was unanimously agreed that Empera’s new retail store should be designed with an inviting freshness, arranged according to style segments and with navigation that prevents customers from getting lost inside. Yalın Tan Partners architecture firm was contracted to design the store, and supervision meetings were held continuously throughout the process.

Results

A store was created for Empera that establishes a strong connection with its customers, with perfected in-store navigation and offering customers an experience of innovation and discovery beyond mere shopping. The first store opening became a cornerstone of Empera’s retail assertion in the global arena. Empera’s retail store shattered all the conventions in the category. The vision shaping Empera’s retail approach transformed the perception of customers from mere buyers to experiencing a brand that offers innovation and exploration.
